_42962467_pembadoma_body

We lived in Kathmandu back in 2003 and my wife walked with Pemba and their child (who was Zayd's age)   She just died in an accident -  We ate at their home and they came to Zayd's 1 year b-day party!   Please pray for her husband, Raj

FROM BBC  "One of Nepal's most famous female mountaineers has died in a climbing accident in the Himalayas.  Pemba Doma Sherpa fell at about 8,000m while descending Lhotse south of Mount Everest, officials at the trekking firm where she was a director told the BBC. A spokeswoman for Climb High Himalaya said friends and family were shocked.  Two Sherpas died with Ms Sherpa on Lhotse, the world's fourth highest peak. She was Nepal's first woman to climb Mount Everest by its north face...."

shocking numbers

a friend in singapore compiled these numbers (he has a PhD in missiology)

27% of the people in the world live beyond the gospel. These are the unreached people of the world who most likely have never heard the gospel a single time from someone. For them it is as if Christ never came. Surely these people are the priority for Great Commission Christians...

Yet for every $10,000 in personal income the average Christian gives 1 penny to reach these people. Out of every 10,000 professional Christian ministers, only 100 are serving in cross-cultural missions and only 2 are serving among the 27% of the world that is unreached!
