The end times? Luther said, "go plant a tree"

We must allow Jesus to invade our minds, call our hearts, and direct our feet. As some want to do, we must not merely respond with withdrawing from doing anything and interpret the current events in our world solely through the lense of “end times prophecy.” When someone asked Martin Luther what he would do if Jesus was going to return tomorrow. His reply, “I would go plant a tree.” I think what he meant by this is that people in every era, since the time Jesus, have always thought that the end was near and it led to people sitting around and doing nothing.  Now your reply might not be to plant a tree but Luther’s response was long-term, looking ahead to a better tomorrow.    We must be seekers of peace, conduits of hope, expressions of love, and vessels of mercy. We must arise!

Requesting prayer...

As I look at the current events going on around our family, relationships, and ministry, I am humbled to my knees and feel so inadequate.  If I felt adequate to handle them, that is exactly where the enemy would want me to be -  Being and feeling adequate on our own ability will surely not work in seeing God come and move. I am convinced of this.     A.W. Tozar said, "God's address is at the end of one's rope"  I am looking for God's address.   Friends, I am writing with an urgent request to pray.  In recent days, there have been numerous conflicts that are too numerous to explain  and too complex to write about
We believe the power of Jesus Christ is alive in the world and active and able to conquer sin, death, despair, hopelessness, and fear -
  • Our Family - Sickness has come through our home, night terrors at night,  Moving back to America, stress upon us that is too numerous to detail here
  • ServLife India -  1.) Recent disturbances on Sunday worship service, where a man came in disturbing the worship ----   2) A man holding a knife waiting for our Indian Director, Albert Das, to return (saying he was waiting for him --  Needing to move to a new temporary facility before construction begins
  • Transition - We are planning on leaving Thailand in mid Sept to return to the states - We originally only came to Asia for 6 months and the 6 months are over - Many decisions before us as we settle back in Indianapolis
